DANMUJI KOREAN YELLOW RADISH PICKLES


Love watching Korean dramas must often see appetizing Korean food. One of them is yellow pickled radish which is often a friend to eat jjajangmyun or Korean black bean noodles. This turnip pickle is named and praised, and it turns out it’s really easy for you. This is the recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 radish
  • 500 grams of water
  • 2 bay leaves (sold in supermarkets)
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1/2 tsp grated turmeric, or you can also use powdered one

How to make:

  1. Peel turnips and wash thoroughly, slice them thinly.
  2. Boil the water until it boils, add sugar, bay leaves, vinegar and turmeric. Taste test. Turn off the fire.
  3. Put the radish into the boiled water until it is completely submerged. Let it cool. After that it is stored with the boiled water in the refrigerator .

After sinking, and praise is ready to be served and enjoyed at any time with jjajangmyun, ramyun, or other food from Korea.

Actually in Korea do not use turmeric as a yellow dye, but use chija or gardenia fruit, but the yellow color can be replaced with turmeric because it is almost the same and in Indonesia it is easier to find.
